Although Keith and I divorced in
2007, we continue living together in the same house. Yes, I
don’t always follow the “rules” but instead question whether
they make sense and serve the greatest good.
With the children out of the
nest, I have reclaimed my yard. Gardens constantly push at
the lawn on my little city plot as I work to fit another
fruit tree or a bag of bulbs or more vegetables into already
cramped quarters. The plantings come together (unity here,
too!), and I am thrilled with my latest successes: for the
first time, hundreds of delicious thumb-sized,
smooth-skin kiwis, and at last, blossoms on my twelve-year-old paw paws. With
the support of my friends in the Maple Leaf Garden Club,
both my gardens and I flourish. Yes, life is good. |
