I attended Nicolet High School
and count the “Knight Ladies,” my buddies from those years,
among my best friends. Living still in the
Milwaukee area, they remind me of my roots and keep me
grounded. As with all true friends, they are always “there”
for me.
After graduating from Smith College in
Massachusetts and working a few years in Philadelphia, I
settled in Seattle. After more than thirty years in the city
(including more than twenty-five in the same house), I know
this is where I belong. Views of mountains to the east and
west, taste of saltwater in the air, and fresh-water lakes
everywhere – what more could I ask
for?
Rain? It never stops me. I am
outdoors year-round. I bike rather than drive whenever
possible, and I walk a fast-paced five miles most days. And,
always, my gardens call.
